The Sixth Element (Changzhou) Materials Technology Plans Financing 1 Billion Yuan To Build Graphene System
The Sixth Element (Changzhou) Materials Technology Co. Ltd, founded in 2011, is a high-tech enterprise which specializes in R&D, production, sales of graphene and in technical development of graphene applications. In October of 2014, the corporation was approved to be part of the National SME share transfer system Co., Ltd.
The Sixth Element (Changzhou) Materials Technology is the first public company whose main business is graphene in China, and the only company with production capacity of both graphene powder, organized in The Sixth Elements (Changzhou) Materials Technology Co. Ltd, and CVD graphene film, organized in the wholly owned subsidiary Wuxi Graphene Film Co.(http://www.graphenefilm.com.cn/en/) The Sixth Element (Changzhou) Materials Technology group has 50 R&D people and more than 100 graphene related patents, including 34 patents granted. The internationally renowned graphene expert Rodney S. Ruoff acts as chief expert advisor.
In 2015, sales revenue of The Sixth Element (Changzhou) Materials Technology group (graphene powder and graphene film) achieved 23 million Yuan, an increase of 637% compared to 2014. For 2016, a growth of more than 300% is expected. The Sixth Element (Changzhou) developed a zinc-allyl, graphene containing heavy anti-corrosion coating together with Dow Chemical. Salt spray time of this anti-corrosion coating exceeds more than 3000h, far beyond the traditional anti-corrosion coatings (the Chinese standard salt spray time is 600h). Presently, this heavy anti-corrosion coating is widely used in offshore wind power and ocean-engineering. Elsewhere, the company's graphene powder products have been also applied to PA6, PET, rubber, EPS and other high polymers.
The company will take The Sixth Element-(Changzhou) Materials Technology as a platform to build up a graphene industry chain: Creating a graphene ecosystem by cooperating with selected industry leaders in the different application fields. Beside of Wuxi Graphene Film Technology Co.,Ltd, the fully owned subsidiary of The Sixth Element (Changzhou) Materials Technology, the company holds minority shares in companies dealing with e.g. graphene rubber, thermal conductive graphene film and graphene anti-corrosion coating, in order to support the existing development contracts. In 2020, the sales volume is expected to exceed 1 billion Yuan. Based on the strategic plan to build up the graphene ecosystem and to achieve the expected sales The Sixth Element (Changzhou) Materials Technology plans to finance 50 million to 1 Billion Yuan for the development of new products and for promoting the application of graphene products.
